Sickness:

Well, its finally happened. Sarah is sick for the first time. Luckily, its just the sniffles and watery eyes, and could have been a lot worse. But, the funny thing about this is, that i'm sick as well. So we've been sick buddies for the last two days:( Its funny, shes still been her sweet self, even though she doesnt feel good. She should be just fine though in a couple of days, she's a trooper.:)

Our sweet baby Sarah

Here are a few pictures of what Sarah looks like now.:) She is the sweetest baby. She only cries when its feeding time or if she needs to be changed. She loves to smile all the time. Kevins parents got us SKYPE, which is a web cam for a gift when we left. Its awesome because we can see them and talk to them at the same time. So when we try to get Sarah to smile for the grandparents, she doesnt do anything! URGGG!
She is just so mezmorized by the camera and just wants to stare at it:) She is a wonderful joy and blessing to have in our lives.

recap of the last year

Well, it certainly has been an interesting year. On September 1st, Kevin went to Marine Corps bootcamp for three months...just after I found out I was pregnant. :) It was the longest three months of my life!!! My parents were kind enough to take me back into their home, even though i just left, just so I wouldnt have any housing expenses. During those three months I tried to keep busy with work and other social engagments. Hanging out with Kevins family helped but only made me miss him even more. I would frequently burst out in tears, just sobbing and saying "I miss Kevin!" Being pregnant didnt help either. Finally, on November 26th he graduated and i got to see him again.:) Best day ever! ( besides us getting married and we have our daughter now). Well, he got a month off in december and luckily we got to spend Christmas together, but he had to go back on January 5th for more training. So, I knew I had a month or so before I saw him again. Thats when things changed. All of a sudden my pregnancy was getting worse without me realizing it. I started to swell up really bad and my body was getting rid of all its protein. I thought it was weird because I was only 6 months into the pregnancy. LUCKILY, i worked at an obgyn office and was seeing one of the doctors there. My dr. told me to go straight to Sacred Heart in Spokane Washington, where they found out i had develpoed pre-eclempsia and they put me on bed rest until I had the baby. They took ultrasounds and the baby was stressed in the womb. The placenta was detaching and the baby had stopped growing. At this point I had contacted the American Red Cross so they could find Kevin and bring him home. They were trying to keep her inside as long as they could but my liver and kidneys were starting to shut down.
Finally, a week later, Kevin made it home, they did a c/section on me, and little Sarah was born on February 5th.
She weighed only 1 lbs 13 oz! SOOO tiny! Her thigh was no bigger than Kevins thumb. It was so cute to see Kevin look at his little girl for the first few moments:)He was so worried about her, as we all were. But we knew she was in good hands. She was to stay in the NICU for the remainder of what would have been the pregnancy, or at least until her due which was April 26th. But she was doing so well in the NICU with her eating and all of her testing that she went through, they let her go home two weeks early on April 15th. Yes, tax day:) By this point Kevin had gone back to training and I was at home still with my parents helping me take care of the new little one. It was VERY stressful at first, but now I kinda have the hang of it. Two weeks later, Sarah and I finally joined Kevin down in 29 Palms, CA. Its a small town in the mojave desert, but there is a Marine
base here and thats where we are today. It has been so wonderful to watch Sarah grow and to see her beautiful smile. She is a very happy baby and already sleeps anywhere from 10-12 hours at night and even sleeps through the day! Lucky me:)

Kevin is still in school right now and will graduate December 9th. He is in a small MOS(miltary occupation school) but very prestigious. He is working with satellite commuications but its all techincal, like how the satellites work and using math equations to find out how it works and how to fix it. He is at the top of his class right now and passes all tests and quizzes with flying colors. He is such a wonderful provider for this family and we love him very much.
